<image:caption>Rather than primarily looking at bone, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) can provide information about soft tissues within the temporomandibular joint that aren't seen the same way on conventional dental X-rays. Whether any of these types of imaging are appropriate depends on your individual situation and is a decision for the healthcare professional responsible for investigating those structures.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - One of the Most Common Things I Hear in the Clinic - "I Feel So Tight" - Imagine asking one employee to do the work of three people.</image:title>
<image:caption>Eventually they're going to become tired, overworked, and probably complain. Muscles are no different. A muscle can feel tight because it's being asked to work constantly. Poor movement patterns. Postural demands. Compensation for another weak area. Clenching. Guarding. Stress. Over time, that muscle never really gets a chance to relax. The result? It feels tight. But stretching it repeatedly may only provide temporary relief because the underlying workload hasn't changed.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - One of the Most Common Things I Hear in the Clinic - "I Feel So Tight" - I see this all the time with TMJ-related symptoms.</image:title>
<image:caption>People describe their jaw muscles as tight. And sometimes they actually are. But just as often, those muscles are overworked, fatigued, guarding, or responding to ongoing clenching patterns. Massaging them feels wonderful. Stretching them may help temporarily. But long-term improvement often comes from improving how the jaw functions, moves, and tolerates load. The goal isn't simply to make muscles looser. It's to make the system work better.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The jaw doesn’t simply “turn off” at night. For many people, especially those with TMJD-related symptoms, the jaw muscles may remain active in subtle ways during sleep — including clenching, grinding, or sustained low-level tension.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Why Does My Jaw Click If It Doesn’t Hurt?</image:title>
<image:caption>The temporomandibular joint(you have two) is a highly specialized joint with a small disc that helps the jaw move smoothly. You can think of this disc as a cushion or guide that helps distribute force and support coordinated movement. In many cases, clicking happens when that disc is no longer moving in perfect coordination with the jaw. As the jaw opens, the disc may shift slightly out of position and then “recapture” as movement continues — producing the click you hear or feel. This is one of the most common reasons for jaw clicking, but it’s not the only possibility. Muscle tension, altered movement patterns, and changes in joint mechanics can also contribute.</image:caption>
